Island Transportation comes in just a few basic ways on Upper Captiva. Golf Carts are by far the most popular choice. These zippy little beach buggies are electric - green vehicles- of course, to keep the community itself quiet and free of cars and trucks.
Sandy Lanes are perfect for not only buzzing along in a golf cart, but taking strolls, jogging, or exploring nature right alongside every trail.
Pedal Power- Bicycles are another popular island pursuit of enjoying a carefree island tour or jaunt along the preserve access roads (no carts allowed in the preserve lands.)
All electric vehicles must be driven by licensed drivers over the age of 16, per island traditions.
The sandy road of the island are fully private property and access provided to day trip guests is very limited.
