Upper Captiva, aka North Captiva, is home to long stretches of pure sandy beaches with the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico slipping against their breathtaking shores.
Each area of the developed portion of the island offers beach access points to drive your golf cart (North Captiva's standard mode of motorized transportation.)
The Dunes - With an excellent state beach access point and parking area for golf carts and bicycles, the Dunes offers sculpted beaches along this part of the island creating little coves and cloistered beaches - you could enjoy a new beach every single day.
Castaway Key - Mid-way across the island's developed area are the Castaway Key and Captiva Palma neighborhoods. The State of Florida beach lot is available for walking onto the beaches and several private homeowner lots offer deeded beach access points in this area.
Safety Harbor Club - Owned by the neighborhood, this access is only for the Safety Harbor residents and guests. With a quiet beach boardwalk and gazebo, this access point is surrounded by nature.
Jose's Hideaway
Screened by tropical vegetation, the Beaches along the central portion of the development are accessed at the end of each "beach street". No matter where you are on the island you can access these beaches by golf cart, bicycle, or foot. Jose's hideaway is prized for its easy beach access.
North End Beaches
Bordered by Palm trees with breathtaking views of the Gulf, the off-shore sandbars with waves breaking, and the dreamy island of Cayo Costa.
